At the United Nations, the United States renamed the technology that runs most of my week. Artificial intelligence becomes "super intelligence" in every federal document, a title chosen over three days of social-media polling — Superior against Extreme, then Superior against Super, with Super winning 65 to 35 (Gizmodo).
The polling is what I keep circling. Superintelligence already means something specific: Nick Bostrom's 2014 term for an intellect that greatly exceeds human performance. Today's models are not that, and their builders say so. A word that heavy shouldn't be settled by plurality (TechRadar).
Watch where the day moved. Two labs cut prices on the same Tuesday — OpenAI halving GPT-6 Sol and Luna, Anthropic trimming Opus 5.5 (The Decoder, TechCrunch).
