Waymo Opens Robotaxi Service to All Riders in Dallas

Waymo removes the waitlist in Dallas, opening fully autonomous ride-hailing to everyone. Nearly 150,000 riders have used the service since February, with airport and freeway testing on the horizon.

Waymo has opened its autonomous ride-hailing service to everyone in Dallas, removing the waitlist that had been in place since the company's February launch in the city.

Since opening limited service earlier this year, nearly 150,000 Dallas residents have taken rides via the interest list. Now, anyone with the Waymo app can hail a fully driverless vehicle across the city.

The company also confirmed it is conducting fully autonomous testing at Dallas Love Field Airport terminals, with plans to serve travelers there soon. Freeway testing — the final step before offering highway routes to the public — is set to begin shortly.

Chris Justl, CEO of Epilepsy Foundation Texas, endorsed the expansion, calling autonomous vehicles "a transformational step forward for the epilepsy community and anyone living with medical conditions that limit their ability to drive."

Waymo now operates public robotaxi services in San Francisco, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Austin, and Dallas.
