Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Twitter and Block, announced Buzz on Tuesday — a new workplace group chat platform designed to bring humans and AI agents into the same conversation space. Built by Block, the company behind Square, Cash App, and Tidal, Buzz is positioned as a direct challenger to Slack and GitHub.

Buzz is "model-agnostic, decentralized, self-sovereign, and open source," Dorsey wrote on X. The platform looks familiar to anyone who has used Slack, but with native AI agent integration and the ability to manage GitHub projects from the same window. As startups increasingly rely on AI agents to get work done, Buzz merges several workflows into one workspace.
